Position: Quality Control Manager


Job Scope:

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for managing and continuously improving the quality department in order to maximize customer satisfaction, minimize total cost, and ensure quality product is made.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Actively work towards improving overall quality of the products manufactured.
  • Assign and manage activities of the quality engineers to ensure timely, robust and accurate corrective actions and customer responses.
  • Provides leadership in plant process control including procedure conformance, product quality, and improvement.
  • Responsible to reduce customer claims (internal and external) with pro-active steps and techniques applied in production.
  • Measures the performance of the quality system through appropriate metrics, and initiates interdepartmental action to drive improvement.
  • Manage quality lab such that expectations are clear and results evident in support of the manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of corrective action systems (internal and external).
  • Uses appropriate lean manufacturing strategies to drive down risk and reduce cost of quality.
  • Implements effective validation system for all equipment/processes.
  • Maintains the integrity and effectiveness of the APQP process for transition from NPD to production in terms of validation and stage gate approvals.
  • Maintain systems data related to your functional responsibilities according to the matrix located on SharePoint at /Global Share Documents/ Information Technology/Systems Data
  • Participates in capital planning process.
  • Determines appropriate training and development required for quality and manufacturing engineering staff.
  • Actively participate in 5S program by achieving and consistently maintaining 3S in personal work area. Participate in rotating 5S schedule as auditor for local facility and owner for local common areas.
  • Other duties as defined by management.


Experience, and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO and IATF systems such as ISO 9001.
  • At least 5 years of management experience with majority of experience managing the Quality Department for a manufacturing organization.
  • Experience in managing professional level personnel as well as floor technicians.
  • Strong understanding of customer relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in statistical software packages such as Minitab.
  • Six Sigma certification is preferred (green belt or black belt equivalent)
