Position Title: Automation Engineer / Machine Vision Systems, N.A.

Location: Griffin, GA

 

Job Scope:

Vernay is searching for an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team in Griffin, Georgia. This position requires hands-on experience developing manufacturing cells with sophisticated robotics for component transport, production, testing, visual inspection, and packaging. The Automation Engineer is responsible for researching, simulating, designing, programming, troubleshooting, and implementing automation and vision systems, with the goal of increasing efficiency and reducing labor in injection molding, finishing, and inspection operations. In short, you will help make our manufacturing processes run better! 


Education, Experience, and Skills Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, electrical, electronic, or software engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience with programming and utilizing Six-Axis Robots and end-of-arm tooling. 
  • Creative problem-solving skills. 
  • Knowledge of Denso Robotics, Automation Direct PLC, Micrologix, Wago, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, SLC, RSLogix, RSLinx, PanelView, Controllogix, UltraWare, ORMEC, DeviceNet, Profibus, Ethernet I/O, Beckhoff, and other automation languages. 
  • Working knowledge of high-level programming languages such as Intelligent Actuator XSEL, Visual Basic, and/or IAI robot system is preferred.
  • Industrial automation and visual/camera inspection experience required. 
  • Experience with camera selection and lighting design preferred.
